You get in there by removing the valve cover and using a conduit punch to
create a new hole.

There is already a blank on the firewall for a second drain, they just decided
to (and later regretted it) not use it.

Stan, did this problem occure immediately after jump starting the car, or
someone else's car?

The first thing to check is the ABS relay that is located just above the ABS
control unit. It has a fusible link inside it. If it's bad, no ABS.

The extra iX sensor you refer to is an inertia sensor. It's there, because
with 2wd, it's really hard to lock all four wheels, at the same time at least.
On the 4wd, it's very easy to lock all four wheels at the same time, fooling a
regular ABS system into thinking the car has come to a stop.

You'll find a lot of 4wd ABS systems use this method, although often
internally to the control unit. Opel had a slightly different method on their
4wd Calibra, they used an electronically controlled coupler that dis-engaged
the rear driveshaft when the brake pedal was depressed, turning the car back
into 2wd.

um...call me cynical or something...

But somehow I doubt Mequiar's (or any other company for that matter) would
say anything but "Toss it out". They have no way to know how it's been
handled or stored and I would guess they are not interested in taking the
hit for authorizing marginal product.

I'd love to be proven wrong but I don't think I will.

I might be crazy in asking this, but isnt this the system that 90% of the
cops have been using for the last couple years?

I know around the south almost all of the troopers I see have this type of
system and can clock in both directions while moving. It is 90's
technology.

Nothing new in that article even though it was written to imply some new
super technology in radar units.

Subject: [uuc] FW: (E34) 525i radiator leak

My '94 E34 525i has a radiator unlike any I've had in other cars. The
expansion/overflow tank is attached to the radiator on the driver's side. It
is made of translucent plastic and contains the bleeder screw and radiator
cap installed in a black plastic piece at the top. I have a slight leak that
appears to be coming from the horizontal joint between the bottom of the
translucent plastic tank and the black plastic of the radiator frame. I
believe that there are several o-rings in this assembly (bleeder screw, cap,
and connection(s) between translucent plastic and black plastic).

The radiator was replaced with OEM Behr about two years ago. Can anyone tell
me the logical places for the leak? I'm assuming that it is at an o-ring at
the bottom joint between the translucent plastic tank and the black plastic
radiator frame. Any other possibilities? Anyone had a leak at any o-rings?

Thanks for the help.

I'll never find a box like that since at my fraternity we always poured the
full 1.75L bottle of "cheap stuff" in to the garbage can or ice chest when
making "Jungle Juice" at parties...

>I have had liquid waxes go bad from freezing in the garage,

My parents basement on the San Francisco Peninsula never gets much below 50
degrees or above 70 degrees so freezing or high heat was not a problem.

>With your box of stuff, were the containers ever opened?

None of it seems like it dried out, and the 3M Resin Glaze actually seems
thinner like it has more water in it, the Meguiar polishes seem a little
lumpy.

>You should call Meguiar's, I am really curious what they
>will say!

I first sent an e-mail to Meguiar's employee (and former Welty list member
and BMW CCA Autocrosser) B.J. Birtwell, but it bounced so I'm guessing he
doesn't work there any more. I went to the Meguiare's site and sent an
e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] I'll post what they say after I get a
response.

Then Ed MacVaugh wrote:

It's good to see Zymol giving good customer service. I just got some good
customer service from Larry (who sells Zymol) at Car Care Specialties, Inc.
http://www.carcareonline.com I have been buying from Larry for years and
send a lot of people to his site just to read the great car care articles.
I sent Larry the same e-mail I sent to the list and I get a response in
about 15 minutes... on a Sunday...

Larry said:
"There is a shelf life for all products. It depends upon the product and
the temperature of the storage. You have to ask yourself is it worth the
risk of damaging your paint with 15 year old products? That is a question
only you can answer."

Maybe car care companies will think about adding a "born on date" to all
bottles of wax and polish...
