This is the house paint car? :-) In that case beat it into submission. Or in other words slot the holes by forcing the bolts through. I bet you can loosen all the bolts going down into the camber plate, aligning most, and beat the last two or so into fitting. Hell it won't hurt the look of the car. :-) Hey I wanted that car. Your HDs, which are longer, must be worse. Bilstein bump stops can be fixed, but their damping is too weak for stiffer than stock springs. Nearly perfect for stock springs though. Gruppe: I am looking to do the following to my garage: 1. Add a quality drop-light. Any suggestions? Most of the auto-store types are really cheap-looking plastic. I'd like something nicer. 2. Add some light. I can go into the walls and ceiling. HO fluorescents have been suggested. I have very little light to work with since I have only the opener lights and two small 60W units in addition. 3. Convert 2-pin sockets to 3-pin. Any fancy receptacles, etc., suggested for the garage? Thanks! Get one of these. You don't want to break a bulb and ignite the fumes when you're replacing a fuel filter, fuel tank, etc. > 2. Add some light. I can go into the walls and > ceiling. HO fluorescents have been suggested. I have > very little light to work with since I have only the > opener lights and two small 60W units in addition. > Yes, get the 8-foot HO flourescents. More light than you'll ever need. Then consider sunglasses. > 3. Convert 2-pin sockets to 3-pin. Any fancy > receptacles, etc., suggested for the garage? > You don't necessarily need anything special in the receptacle. At an electrical supply house (or maybe even Home Despot), look for a better grade receptacle. "Construction grade", "specification grade", "industrial grade", something similar. Less apt to break the plastic from rugged use, unlike the 57-cent specials. What you really need is a proper ground so that the three-prong plug really does what it is supposed to. Depending on what you are starting with, this may require some rewiring. Also, it would be advisable to have GFCI protection for all of your receptacles. This can be accomplished at one receptacle (the first one from the power source, if your outlets are sequentially wired) or by replacing the appropriate circuit breaker. The car is an E30 cabrio, but this question probably applies to plenty of other models. I replaced the stock shift knob with the faux leather "anatomic" model a few years back because of this same problem; the old one kept coming off in my hand when I'd shift into second gear. This can be dangerous as well as embarassing. As I recall, said knob was a rather expensive little item, so I figured I'd ask if there's any popular trick to keep the little devil on the stick where it belongs before I pony up for a new one. You may have to change your shifting style and use the tips of your fingers instead of gripping it like a baseball bat. The ones I have removed took probable 25 lbs or more of pull to get them off. Another option is that it isn't really pushed on enough (until it clicks into the groove).
