Is Bruce Keyt on any of these mailing lists? Does anyone know him or how I
might contact him? Possibly a member of BMW CCA Golden Gate Chapter or
former member of Boston Chapter.

TIA,

Gary Martin at Martin Motorsport in Alexandria.

703-823-9735.

And yes, I am biased, I have taken my cars to J&F and Euro Imports in
Alexandria and I like Gary better. He is a good guy and a huge BMW nut.
Nice small shop.

Man... that car must be a real lemon - keeps popping up for sale on
eBay every 6 months or so.

You're not missing anything.

If you've removed the four 8mm bolts (with 13mm heads) and the four T10
bolts, it should come right off.

There is a gasket that seals it to the pan, that sometimes gets stuck.

Subject: [uuc] <E36><M3> Radio Code

I bought a single CD factory head unit over EBay for my E36 M3, but it
appears that the code doesn't work. I enter the code and then push the
">" button, but after three tries, I got the "wait" response. It looks
like the code card the guy sent doesn't match the radio...but I can't
find exactly where the serial number is on the head unit (lots of
numbers, but nothing that says SN, for example.)

Could someone verify that I'm entering the code correctly (4 digit
number then the > key) and perhaps point me to where the serial number
is? I bought it at EBay.de, and the guy doesn't speak english well, so
I'd like to first verify that I've done everything correctly and then
give him the actual serial number so that he can track down the code.

Thanks in advance,

Dave Hall

Subject: [uuc] E12 motor mounts

I recall Michel Potheau (RIP) explaining the various E12 motor mounts (red,
blue, etc.) available and their relative merits, not only for the E12 but
for other cars where they fit.

Alas, he is no longer here to guide us, I seem not to have saved this note
and I can't retrieve the archives of the UUC digest to find what he posted
some 2 (or so) years ago.

Can anyone help? I've gone through all of the majordomo commands, and I
can't seem to find the archive lists or the original posting.

TIA,

Gregory in Geneva

Scott:

After a little Googling, I found this:

Curb Weight - Manual (lb.) 3560

Ratios: 3.67/2.00/1.41/1.00/0.74:1

Sport Package ($1,200--includes 17x8-inch alloy wheels, 225/45ZR17
performance tires, sport suspension, 10-way power/two-way manual front
sport seats);
