A quick search (selected 1993 325i Anti-lock brake computer from the drop-downs) came up with numerous matches for 1993 325i ABS control boxes for as little as $50. Note however that there are different part numbers for traction control/non-traction control, etc. so be sure to get the correct part number. A, its a ragtop, B, the last thing i want after owning an M5 is a car with _British_ reliability." The Elise's honour must be defended. It does suffer from, and is oversensitive to, early wear to various components - mainly in the suspension department. Much like every BMW since 1966. Of course, part of the reason the Elise is otherwise so reliable - and it makes a mockery of the brittle TVRs and Caterhams - is that there's really very little to it. I hope Lotus keeps it that way. This applied at the time to anyone who didn't return the double flash salute (when was the last time anyone did *that*; ok, '02 drivers excepted). Somehow, even catering to the despised non-enthusiast market, they've managed to thrive in an increasingly competitive market, as a (relatively) small company, and build some damn interesting cars (the E30 M3 included). --SC Robinson, Lee wrote: >And I think BMW doesn't care, as you are in the VAST minority of their new >car customer base. Air conditioning has been getting less cold, moving into "I think it's cooler . . ." range. Watched as the air conditioning was turned on with the car running. Heard the nasty noise, heard the idle speed pick up, and saw the compressor belt slow down briefly. Turned car off and the belt was pretty darn loose, so I figure the belt is slipping and/or the compressor is resisting turning. Tightened the belt and tested and no noise - Great! But no cold air either. Hmmm. The fan is running at the condenser when the air is turned on, the idle speed picks up, but I don't hear a click or feel anything from the compressor. On my E28 I can hear, feel, and see the compressor clutch engage. When I jumper what I *think* is the low pressure switch at the sight glass (the larger switch) I see a spark, but don't get compressor engagement. When I jumper the smaller switch I don't see a spark or have any obvious result. Would someone please suggest a plausible fault other than bad compressor or compressor clutch? 'Cause I'd rather not deal with that. or go ahead and give me the bad news if you see no other alternative. Also the street version has a "race" setting for less compliance. I purchased direct from GC over the phone. Good service and quick delivery (I'm on the same coast). A trace on the board in the relay module lifted, then cracked, yielding maddeningly intermittent operation, then consistent failure. I soldered in a jumper (and reflowed all the other joints), and never had a problem again. This was one of those jobs that was 99% diagnosis time, 1% repair time. This sounds like how my shift lever was until adding a UUC ERK. Night and day. It made a world of difference. After a few years of the MZ3 lever it just got so worn out that I was having problems getting into 3rd from 4th at the track. It was recently replaced with a new UUC shift lever using my old ERK. A bigger world of difference. Now I will need to find another excuse why I can't shift. I think by adding an ERK you will be set for a few years. Then it will be time to do it all over again. - -- ...steven 1996 328ti 2003 MCS Ofest caravan http://www.happytogether.com/unofficialofest ------------------------------ End of [uucdigest] V3 #6623 *************************** | | In memory of Michel Potheau - friend, enthusiast, founder of the BMW CCA. |________________________________________ | Please visit these UUC-approved BMW parts vendors/service providers: | (listed alphabetically) | | Autoscope-Motorsports - http://www.autoscope-motorsports.com | |==================================================== | | Koala MotorSport .
