Problem is ya'll ain't got no good 'ol boys up thar. Ain't no shiny lawyer
gonna tell a good 'ol boy he can't pop him a deer. Send down an appropriate
tow vehicle and a case of Milkwakee's Best & I'm willing to negotitiate a
double wide full of 'em (about 12). Before you know it, you'll be rid of
any pesky deer, 'coons, possum, skunk, stray cats, etc.

Only down side is they'll bring 14 non-running pick-ups, their sisters (this
way they won't offend the local wimmin) & about 7 teeth.

Isn't it about time you Jersey boys should be locking up the toys in the
garage? I can hear a snow tire thread coming on soon......

I'm having to replace the 3.25 LS diff on my 85 535. We're putting in a
3.46 LS, but the mount on the 3.25 is shot and the one attached to the 3.46
is from a 6 series. Two questions:

Is a junk yard a good source for mounts or should I go new?

Do I have to get a mount from an E28 body?

Thanks,

Why does it matter, it isn't like you keep the STi clean or anything. Heck, when I
saw it, I don't think you had even gotten all of the residue from the delivery plastic
off of it yet....and this was two months after you took delivery of the car. And you
are wondering about low dust pads...

Geez, give me a break...

Steve,

A junk yard is not a terribly good place to find a
rubber piece such as the rear diff mount since rubber
breaks down. Plus, chances are that diff mount in the
yard went out before the wreck anyway.

The upgrade is one from the E28 M535i. You can get
one from Maximillian Importing. They know what you're
talking about when you ask for an M535i diff mount for
a 535i, because millions of people have done it
before. :-)

Hello Group,

Well, I was successful in getting added at the last minute to the
Grattan DE this weekend. So much for being responsible and saving some
money. I lucked out getting a tech inspection before I left town today
so I'm all set, except for accommodations.

Can anyone on the list (Carlos? Ben? Jay?) offer suggestions for where
to stay, perhaps closer to the track and cheaper than the hotel
suggested by the club? The first year I stayed at the recommended hotel
(too expensive), and last year I stayed at a friends (no longer
available). Also, if you've got the information, could you let me know
what the club hotel is so I know where to go register tomorrow night?

Thanks for any help.

I think the Euro engines have a bit more compression. Otherwise not much is
different.

There's an office here in Detroit, heck it could be the US headquarters
for all I know. An old autox competitor (also in a black E30 M3) used
to work for them. He went back to Japan and took his M3 with him but
one of his buddy's is still here (if you've seen a Japanese guy in a
lowered white 968 cabrio with a blue top that's him), he probably works
for Akebono, I'll ask him next time I see him.

Bavarian AutoSport has them in their catalog and probably online as well. I
don't recall specifics but I don't think they're that expensive, $20 would
seem right to me.

Howdy,

So the little glovebox rechargeable flashlight in my girlfriend's '93
325is is dead...

What're the chances I can either fix it or replace it? Is this a common
"yeah, just go here" type of thing? Be nice to have it working if it
didn't cost $50 or $100 or something silly...

Thanks!

As the days get shorter and the weather turns cooler, it can only mean one
thing, the St. Louis BMW Club's annual Frost-on-the-Pumpkin school at
Gateway International Raceway. This year's event is November 1st and 2nd
with an Instructor tuning day on Halloween, October 31st. Talk about scary!

For those of you who don't know, GIR is a ROVAL using an infield road course
and turns 3 & 4 of the oval. It's a fun track with great facilities (covered
paddock anyone?) and is guaranteed to be a great weekend. It's also a great
way to close out the 2003 driving school season. For a track map, check out
http://www.gatewayraceway.com/mapOval.html.

St. Louis is but a short drive from Chicago, Kansas City, Indianapolis and
Memphis with a lot of convenient, clean and inexpensive lodging close to the
track.

There are a few spaces left so please join us for what will be for many the
last event of the year. For more information and an application, check-out
www.stlbmwclub.com.

Hope to see you there!

Cheers,

Geoff

We are looking to replace our '88 735i with either of these two vehicles.
Has anyone out there done a comparison of the two and would like to comment?

We are looking for reasonable towing (7700lbs for the V8 Touareg) and room
for five, plus AWD.

thanks,

Mike
