Subject: [uuc] <FS> 16" x 7.5" BBS RZ wheels for E36, E30 M3 & others

I have a set of nearly new 16" x 7.5" BBS RZ347 wheels
for sale :

http://members.roadfly.com/m_ben/RZ+1a.jpg
http://members.roadfly.com/m_ben/RZ+2b.jpg
http://members.roadfly.com/m_ben/RZ+3a.jpg
http://members.roadfly.com/m_ben/RZ+4a.jpg

as the pictures show they are _extremely_ clean wheels.

I bought them ~3 years ago and only used two of them
for less than 10 laps on the track. they were cleaned as
soon as they came off the track, so they're near-perfect.
the other two have never had tires mounted on them by me
and were apparently barely used by the person I bought
them from. I bought them with the intention of running
them on my street car, but the car rapidly moved to become
primarily a track car & the wheels are too nice for that
sort of use.

they're 5x120mm lug spacing & have 37mm of offset.

they are an E36 fitment, but with use of 10mm spacers
they would be perfect on an E30 M3. the factory
fitment for an E30 M3 with 16" x 7.5" wheels is 27mm,
which is the effective offset you'd have with 10mm spacers.

with use of a 15mm spacer they would also work well
on an E28, E32 or E34.

all four center caps are included and they're in great
condition, I just didn't get all the pics with them
installed.

$650 obo + shipping from 48220

Harvey, reaching under the exhaust manifold from above like you did is the
easiest way to change the filter on the M20 in an E30. The worst part is
that you'll dribble some oil down on the motor mount and control arm, but
there are several ways to keep this from being a messy problem.

Isn't Delvac where the Coneheads are really from? Wait, that was Romulac.
Never mind.

Actually,

The Delo is a Chevron product. The 15w40 is the
standard dino oil. The Delo 5w40 is a group III oil
synthetic. Mobil Delvac1 is the PAO group 4 full
synthetic 5w40 oil. Mobil Delvac1300 is the 15w40
dino.

I have been running D1 for about 5 years in all my
cars. It has long drain capability due to its large
additve package needed for diesel use. My TDI is
heavily modded and can go 10K easily between oil
changes according to some oil testing. The
non-moddified TDI guys can go 20K+ without issues.

D1 is hard to find and $21.99 a gallon but worth it
IMO.

I'm in California, so I don't know the details for where you might be,
but the process was very quick & painless for me. I filed for
arbitration against VW under the lemon law, which only required basic
info on the vehicle & it's repair history. Some copies of the service
doc's with dates were also submitted. VW responded to the complaint by
phone & mail by offering to replace the car. I said "thanks, but not if
I have to service it at the same dealer". They said OK, we'll review the
contract amounts & make you an offer to buy it back. They charged me a
fair amount for use, paid off the loan & refunded the balance. The
amount was quite fair, and the mileage was based on when the request for
arbitration was started. Only took about 30 days to complete the whole
process.

As indicated you'll need a new pin. Be sure to get the same size.

The other key is to get an extraction tool. It's really a metal cylinder
sometimes slit down its length. It also is sized according to the type and
size pin to be removed.

Fry's has some of these also.

I've used Leatherique. The results are OK. The finish can be shiny so order
the colorant to cut down the sheen.
Their line includes cleaning, repair, and color solutions.

Subject: [uuc] Looking for a good M30 E28 Head, or solution..

Hi All,

Recently I was driving along and one of my spark plugs popped out of the
engine while I was at a stop light. I pulled over, and used the handy
toolkit in the trunk to put the plug back in, and noticed that the a$$hole
wrench that did my plugs and wires must have used an impact wrench to put
the plugs in, because the threads are pretty bady stripped in the head. So
when I try and tighten the plug up, it gets to the point of hand tight and
then loosens off at the next turn, This seems to be the case for the front
2 plugs. So I either need to replace the head, or find a way to fix it. I
was told about the helicoil idea, but dont know too much about it. Does
anyone have any suggestions, or a good head for sale?

Cheers

I just went through this exact same problem with my 98 M3. Any way you slice it, it's
going to be expensive, as much of the cost is in the labor of taking off and
reinstalling the head, whether new or repaired through helicoil. After much research
and kind and useful advice from the list, I opted for the helicoil route. From what I
understand it is stronger than the original head, and cheaper. To heliocoil my M3
head cost $360; a new head cost $2000.

Best of luck,

Andrew E. Skopp

Some news on the E60 M5:

It's interesting to me that the engine breathes well at 10k RPM, and
they're limiting production to 9k. Racing homologation?

Should be a simple procedure although you'll propably want to remove the
head beforehand.

I like the Zymol leather cleaner.

Also the Lexol cleaner works well, but is hard to

It APPEARS better looking than the standard E60, but that is not saying
much :-)

The mechanicals are enticing - at least until the US price is set.
