There's no way that Boinc projects can be kept completely safe. Boinc
is open-source and anyone can start a project. That's how it was designed
and that's how it is. It's why the Boinc website has a list of projects
almost guaranteed to be safe.

It's almost a good thing that the Boinc documentation for starting up new
projects isn't always perfect for every circumstance.

But sooner or later somebody could start a foolish or even malicious Boinc
project. It worries me when people attach to projects whose goal is
unexplained and which don't even have a forum. I don't like it when I
receive emails from people who say they like to be one of the first to
crunch for a new project. But some people are natural risk-takers.
