Hi,
I just saw that api/texfont.cpp[1] and api/texfont.h and files on
samples/glut/ are having a custom copyright header differening from the main
COPYING file.
> /* This program is freely distributable without licensing fees
> and is provided without guarantee or warrantee expressed or
> implied. This program is -not- in the public domain. */
which unfortunately isn't saying about the right to modify. So the
files non-modifiable and so non-distributable with the whole gpl-ed
package.
The author actually, "meant" a simple bsd-like license but the
license as it is on the source code is non-free..
chromium-bsu had the very same issue[2], and they resolved this by
replacing texfonts with ftgl.
These are pretty old files, written by Mark J. Kilgard and Nate Robins.
and as seen on the debian bug comments[2], Mark have been contacted for the
same issue on texfont.cpp, but they couldn't get it cleared out from
him.
I am not yet familiar with boinc code and actually found boinc on a
blacklist. So I thought to ask here to resolve the issue.
Regards
Shyam K
