Considering the considerable difference in performance between AQUA's
32- and 64-bit apps, some of our volunteers are placing
<no_alt_platform>1</no_alt_platform> in their cc_config.xml files to
prevent a 32-bit AQUA app to run on their 64-bit computer, but this
affects other projects with no 64-bit app.

Is there an option on the server to enforce the sending of 64-bit apps
to 64-bit computers?

OK, so this behaviour is intended.

Thanks for the explanation.

The new server software doesn't assume that the
64-bit version will run faster than the 32-bit version.
It keeps statistics on both versions,
and once the sample size is large enough it uses
the one that performs the best.

This mechanism may need some tweaking, e.g. to deal with
the situation where a particular batch of jobs caused
the averages to be off.
