First let me say that I am very interested in the boltwire software.
I've been a user of several CMS systems and I am impressed by the
simplicity and elegance of it. I will follow the development of this
software closely and plan to use it on at least one site that I am
developing now.

I have installed boltwire successfully (I'm using 2.35 boltwire) and
it works pretty well, but I have really just begun exploring the
language and the features. One of the things I would be interested in
using it for is a blog, so I was glad to see the blog plugin and the
detailed instructions page on how to install it.

I have tried to install in MANY times in several different "field"
folders and have not been able to get it working successfully. But it
seems to be working so beautifully on the demo page of the boltwire
site.

This is rather a long post, but here are the steps I've taken and the
problems I've had. I was hoping that someone who had successfully
gotten it working could tell me what I've done wrong.

In the picture says a thousand words spirit, I've posted a 5 minute
video of these steps at:

1. Downloaded blog.backup and pagedata.php

2. Uploaded them to the farm plugins folder

3. Installed pagedata plugin.
Returned screen:
_____________
Form submitted. Plugin Pagedata enabled. Backup file not found. No
files extracted.
Install Plugin
Your plugin has been successfully installed.
Click here to view currently installed plugins.

delimiter=
_____________

Not sure what the "Backup file not found No files extracted." means or
why "delimiter=" was added to the page.

4. First added blog:blog to the site folders page, then Installed
blog.backup file.
Returned screen:
_____________
Form submitted. The following files were extracted: action.blog, blog,
blog.footer, blog.header, main.blog, main.blog.archives,
main.blog.archives.header, main.blog.author, template.blog,
template.blog.archives, template.blog.authlist, template.blog.authors,
template.blog.list. Invalid page name. Please try again.
Install Plugin
Please select a plugin to install:
Available Plugins

Click here to view currently installed plugins.

delimiter=
_____________

Again, not sure what "Invalid page name Please try again." means. Also
there is no selectable plugin available when you try to uninstall the
plugin on the plugins page.

5. Added group.bloggers page with my login ID in it.

6. Added to side.auth.write:

blog*: @key_blog
main.blog.archives*: @key_blog
site.public.blog*: @key_blog

7. "site.public*: @guest" IS in site.auth.view

8. Changed the lines in action.blog
[session log_2 "content='--{=time_2} – ...
[session log_4 "content='{=target}: 0' ...

9. Directed browser to field/index.php?p=main.blog and added a blog
post
There was a title field, a time field (filled with the number
1228404316), an author field, and the post field)

It worked fine. and returned this screen:
_____________
Form submitted. Page blog.aceadman.1228404316 successfully created.

This is a test blog A

Add comment:
_____________

10. So I added a comment. The returned page doesn't show the comment
at all. Just the EXACT same page as above.

11. I clicked the "Blog" link in the thread and was taken to the main
blog page where I can see the post and the fact that ONE comment had
been made.

12. Clicking either the Post name OR the "comments: 1" link takes me
to the post with NO comments shown.

13. Clicked the link to my ID "aceadman" below the post name and went
to
field/index.php?p=main.blog.author&author=aceadman. It looks like
this:
_____________
Blog
Blog? > Posts by aceadman?

12/31/69
 1228404316?

Total Posts: 1
_____________

14. None of the links on this page go anywhere and the name of the
post in the list has been turned into a number of some sort
(timestamp?)

15. Clicking on the blog link returned this URL: /field/index.php?
p=main.blog.main.blog which does not exist

16. Clicking on the aceadman link returned this URL: /field/index.php?
p=main.blog.login.aceadman which does not exist

17. Clicking on the aceadman link returned this URL: /field/index.php?
p=main.blog.blog.aceadman.1228404893

18. Created a user named "tester" and added user ID "tester" to the
group.bloggers page.

19. Logged in as tester and went to ?p=blog

20. returned page:
_____________
Form submitted.
Blocked

This page is not available or you may not have permission to perform a
requested action on this page.

Other issues.

Deleting posts does not delete the post count or the comments count on
the main blog page. I've deleted all posts, but the counter still says
"Posts: 1 Comments: 2"

< appears in a lot of places in the code where I think that a <
should be appearing. I'm not sure why, I am working on a mac and have
simply uncompressed the boltwire archive. I"m using BBEdit which is a
raw text editor. Don't know if that is having any effect on the code
or if it is intentional.

Many thanks in advance for any help on this
