Hi Adam,

I'm short on time right at the moment and don't have time to look
carefully through your situation, but I wanted to make a few quick
comments.

1) BoltWire has gone through a good bit of development over the past
year, and sometimes the plugins have not kept pace with changes in the
code. Things have defiinitely slowed these last two months (which is
good), and there's nothing major ahead on the roadmap, but it has been
a big problem. You'll notice something similar with the docs, though
we are working on it--and I'll be doing a major overhaul (hopefully)
before the end of the year.

2) The blog plugin is one that is out of date--even with the changes
suggested on the plugin page. The pagedata suggestions, for example
are no longer needed as BoltWire has a built info function which can
do even more-- right in the core. But I have not been able to update
all the plugins. I'm still hoping (requesting) other admins might be
willing to maintain one or another of the plugins...

3) What I think I'd like to do is rework the forum and blog plugins to
be something more of a tutorial than a one-click installation. Like:
here's how you make a new page generator. Here's how you set up a
display of blog/forum pages. Here's how you allow comments. Here's how
you use info vars to keep track of things. I think it would be easier
to maintain, and it would give people more flexibility if they
understood HOW to setup their own blogs/forums however they want.

All the steps are pretty easy, it's just assembling them that can be a
challenge. The current blog plugin, uses every imaginable trick to
try and do some amazing things at a very high level of performance.
Unfortunately, that makes it more difficult for new users to
understand how it works and debug it when there are problems.

If you can wait a few days, I'll try and generate a blog/forum
tutorial for you (and perhaps a plugin update). It won't be
hard--just will take some time. And I'll be gone most of the weekend.

BoltWire is quite flexible. Once you get the hang of it, I think
you'll like it. And my apologies that I haven't been able to keep up
with all of the plugins.

Cheers,
Dan
