I use the tree plugin (or at least a custom version of it) which works
extremely fast at moving files around, copying them, deleting them,
even modifying them. It doesn't automatically fix all the broken links
though. That could be handled manually however with the linkrot
plugin. The other problem is indexing. You will need to reindex any
moved files. Oh, and it doesn't create stamps of the files, though
that could be added I suppose. Obviously we could develop a more
powerful plugin that did more of this for us.

Haven't used Joomla or Wordpress, but my guess is they are both
database driven. Seems you would have to be to do automatic redirects
and the like. Well, I suppose we could generate some kind of redirect
index or something. Or perhaps even try tapping into the stamp data if
it has that info stored. Actually, that's kind of a cool idea... I'm
working on stamps now and having some real problems. But I'll make a
note to consider this for a plugin of some sort, eventually...

I really like tree. If you have problems using it let me know. It may
need to be upgraded. Or the instructions may not be clear. But it is a
handy utility.

Cheers,
Dan
