I finished a series by Katy Munger last night. It's a traditional
mystery/romance series. We have a bi-annual book sale at the hospital
where I work and I find a lot of great authors there. That's where I
found her.
As a writer, I hear a lot of authors talk about not buying books
anywhere except bookstores - so the authors can get their full
royalty. But I disagree. I think it's okay to pick up a book for .50.
Take a chance on a new author. Because more times than not I've ended
up at Barnes and Noble paying full price for everything else they've
written. Something I wouldn't have done if not for that .50 book.
Anyway, I like Katy Munger. A fun easy read.
For Christmas I got a few books on writing that I'll read during the
day, but at night - when I want mind candy - I'll go to the new
Elmore Leonard I just got. I've never read him and I hear he's a
master of dialogue.
