When I give books to family members who aren't into computers I don't
expect journal entries, but it is a bit irksome when someone who
seemed to appreciate the idea of BookCrossing doesn't bother to
journal the book. But there really isn't much you can do about it,
and nagging will only make the person associate BC with "chores" {wry
grin}. I still lend or give books to non-BC friends and family just
as I've always done, but I've given up expecting any journal entries
from them; I just note in my own entries that I've given the book to
thus-and-such. If they happen to tell me later what they thought
about the book I may add that to my journal entries too. [And if a
book that I've lent to a non-journalling friend should come back to
me, I may try wild-releasing it somewhere exotic in hope that someday
it'll be caught and I can send a link to that friend to say "see
where that book I lent you ended up?"]
