I put my own perspective on Rosie's words and did not do so carefully. Yes she used the word delete.
I took the suggestion to mean, if the book is already permanently labeled, to be marked as, well, I hadn't thought it through yet, but something other than available or pc or tbr. Maybe reserved. Otoh, if we're using sticky notes, and then taking them out because a swapper wants a clean copy, then there is not BCID, and the book will no longer be journaled, because the recipient will not be able to find it in bookcrossing (or even have the note to alert them to the existence of bookcrossing). So then it seems to me that, if there is a provision for deletion in bookcrossing.com, that the book should be deleted, because it simply is not a bookcrossing book because it does not have a bookcrossing label. Maybe Rosie has further clarification.
