Hi Jocelyn,
why not ask the young person if their parent is a book crosser and if so, would
they mind if you PM'ed them to check it was OK.
If the parent approves, then there isn't a problem.

Subject: [BookCrossing] Sending Books to Minors

  Hi all -

How do you all feel about sending books out to minors? On two occasions
now I've gotten book requests from pre-teens. They've been for Judy
Blume books which while written for that age group are still a bit
controversial among parents. The first one I denied, and I probably
will deny this second one too... I just have to wonder if leaving the
books on a park bench somewhere is any better. I feel like a grouch for
saying no. I just don't want to have any parents mad at me!

  Jocelyn
