from our earlier discussions, you have a touch that is ethernet
connected, set to fixed 100% volume. You have both a boom and a radio,
wifi connected, both variable volume, but only the boom jumps to 100/99%
when LMS connects.

So, it must be something specific to the boom, or, the way that your LMS
setup LMS handles the boom, agree?

I believe you mentioned you can recreate the issue by stopping and
starting LMS? Sorry, I am not experienced in NAS and what you and @kev
were discussing. If you can, you can run the experiments quickly.

It was suggested earlier to see if the same thing happens when
connecting to mysb.com, not sure if this showed anything.

I like swap things back and forth to try to identify where the source of
the problem is. So, A couple other ideas to try:

1) Do you have a PC or a MAC or pi that you could do a clean install of
LMS on, and try running your boom in the same configuration off of the
new LMS? If this solves the problem you could start adding your plugins
back in. If this doesn't cause it to break, perhaps it's related
specifically to your NAS.

2) You could try installing squeezelite-x as a new "player" and see if
it behaves like the radio or the boom. Not sure this narrows anything
down tho :)

3) Take the touch off of fixed volume and see what happens, in fact,
swap it to wifi also.

I learned a long time ago (the hard way) to never say "it couldn't have
anything to do with that..."
