I thought a bit about the tags <class-index> and <function-index> as
used in the current documents. From what I understand, these tags
effectively serve as placeholders, to tell the XSLT processor where to
insert the appropriate content. The content to be inserted is plain
DocBook, though. So wouldn't it be more appropriate to use entities
rather than special tags?
At the location, you'd like to have the function index inserted, just
add, say, "&function-index;", which would refer to a file
"function-index.inc" that contains the actual contents. That file
could then be generated from the other sources during the build
process. This way, we could achieve the same functionality but without
needing to add special tags!
What is your opinion on this?
