I've read that thread, and I don't think anything definitive was proved. Yes,
ISO standard has 31 character limits, but various extensions were there for
years. On Unix, Rock Ridge just works. On Windows, it would be better if
someone take current Boost and current Nero and try burning with Joilet
extension. And then see what happened with long path names.
Using Nero on Windows with Joilet extension works. I have used this when creating demo CDs.
