You should really look at how ReStructuredText handles this elegantly:

  .. _Boost: http://www.boost.org

  Some text that mentions Boost_, but then writes it as
  `The Boost Libraries`__.

  __ Boost_


Or:

  .. _Boost: http://www.boost.org
  .. _`the Boost Libraries`: Boost_

  Some text that mentions Boost_, but then writes it as
  `the Boost Libraries`_.
