Aside from pretty-printing and regression testing, I think the post-processor could also be put to use to other ends.

For instance, EOL normalization could easily be done in the post-processor. QuickBook's handling of EOLs is currently broken for some inputs, I'm gathering test cases and looking at the issues.

I'm sure there are other things that could be done here. In the end, it is just another part of the app and there is no reason for cutting it out. If it's breaking things, then it's just more bugs we'll have to figure.
