Hi,
I talked to Hanzi Zhang at HCS, and this was his reply as of this
morning:

Hi Ms. Jackson,
I talked to UOS this morning, and they will allow us to buy the parking
permits on behalf of the participants. However, they are paper permits,
and we would have to physically get them to participants before the talk.
They are $5 each and can be used at one of the locations listed at
http://www.uos.harvard.edu/transportation/parking/parking_maps.shtml
[www.uos.harvard.edu]. The garage at 52 Oxford Street should be a 5-10
minute walk to the Science Center. If this is convenient, please let me
know how many permits to purchase and how best to get them to
participants.
The Oxford garage is not even 5 minutes away - just up the street a long
block. I'll be in meetings for the next few hours as of 10:30 AM - if
folks are interested, could someone please get the number of folks who
want permits and e-mail Hanzi for the permits? His e-mail is above...

Mabel's offer is certainly very generous and tempting. I noticed also that
Harvard Operations grants a one day permit to campus visitors ($5.00 for an
evening), but the online pages to get one seem to require that you have a
department code, which I don't. It does accept the Science Center as the
department, but you have to have a dept. code, too. Anyone have a valid
department code at the Science Center that might make it possible to buy
online? Otherwise it looks like a phone call will be needed tomorrow, and
probably a visit to the Campus Operations Center somewhere before the talk
to get the permit to go that route?
