Ajax (and specific mashup Libraries), and enough JS to embed them in a
webpage and understand JSON modules on CPAN, are useful front-facing
tools for a Perl developer, just as SQL is a very useful rear-facing
tool. Even for the most hardcore commandline Perl hacker, the ability
of a daemon built with Perl to expose a RESTful monitoring port that a
AJA/X/JSON+CSS webpage can monitor will givzus cheap debug/dashboarding.
