I'm not Humanware, Kathy, but the volume for the media player is different from that of the normal speech. Try space with dots 4-6 and space with dots 1-3. I don't know what the QT equivalent is. The MP3 player's volume is separate. I think that they started that with the view in mind that eventually, you could listen to two things at once, as you can with the Mpower.
