Hello all! Sarah please take note!
I set up my Braille Blazer to see how it would work with the Serial Port. I got the Blazer configured to work with the Serial Port, all fine and good thus far. I then examined the Serial Cable which came with the M-power. It of course is nine pin but the cord has the holes in it, not the pins. The twenty-five pin to nine pin adapter has holes as well. My particular Blazer has the twenty-five pin serial port socket with holes, not pins. I looked through an assortment of various fittings I have but none had a25 pin connection to nine pin connection so I could put stuff together to get the Blazer to Emboss. Perhaps I may find something but one must fiddle between a 25 to 9 pin socket when using the Blazer Serial port. I think I'd rather not mess with such configurations and work mainly with a parallel port which I'm about to do I hope! If I had my old Romeo RB25 here, it probably would have worked but it was sold some months ago. So went my adventure! I wouldn't be embossing much with the Blazer from the Serial Port so can't see getting a cable for it especially if I can get a parallel connection to work with both my embossers. If anyone has a Blazer and they wish to use it with the M-power, then get an appropriate cable. It wasn't worth the trouble for me. As I say if I stumble on the right fitting, I'll try it, otherwise, I hope to be using a parallel port.
