You don't get around having to restart JAWS after you have attached the
display. It sounds like ActiveSync is part of your start-up routine, and
somebody else will have to help there. But since JAWS is what's driving
the Braille display, if you make a change like adding a display in the
middle of a JAWS session, nothing will change until you restart JAWS.
Just the way it is.

Subject: [Braillenote] braille display problems

Hi everyone,
I'd really enjoyed my braille note bp so far. However, I'm having few
problems using it as a braille display. Firstly, I can't just connect
the
display. I have jaws set up to use my braille note. But when I connect
my
serial cable, I can't see anything when I get the braille note in to the

braille terminal. The only way I can get it working is to reboot my
computer... or shut down jaws and restart it. Then Microsoft active sync

comes up and says something about no able to open the port, or the
device
in not recognized. How do I get around all this?
Thanks for your help.
Steph
