I've never quite had that problem, although I have had trouble connecting to
ActiveSync via USB with my PK from time to time.  But, usually the c3 and c4 
reset
fixes things.  Now, you said you tried the 1 2 3 reset.  Did you try either
the 4 5 6 reset, or powering the unit completely down by holding down the c1
and c4 for about three seconds?

i recently tried to connect my PK to activesync via USB today. the computer
was ablt to recognise there was a cable plugged in, but i was never able to
set up a partnership between the pk and laptop.
anyway, that is not the issue, after several attempts to connect, the pk
froze. i tried a c3,c4 reset. still nothing. 1,2,3 reset.. still nothing. at
the moment it is sitting on a table, displaying main menu. no reset beeps or
navigation ability. i have called humanware, but they have yet to get bacvk
to me with any more possible ideas or RMA.

could this be an indication that there is something internally wrong with
the unit, that it would not be possible to connect to activesync at all?
