Mary ellen; Make sure you are plugging the ac adapter directly in to the wall. do not use one of those boxes that will take about 6 cords. I tried long ago and it did not pick up the power. To tell if it is getting any power, the ac adapter will get a little worm, not much at al, just a little. Terry Powers
