The answer is software control. :-) The MPower knows when it is charged and
stops pulling power from the adapter. Over time devices get smarter and
smarter--well that is a matter of opinion--which makes things that would seem
unlikely actually happen.
Take the headphone plug for instance. Most of the time that is a hardwhere
switch that causes sound to come out of the headphones when ever they are
plugged in. With my Braille Note it is obviously a software switch, because I
was disturbed to find that doing a reset with headphones in didn't prevent the
Braille Note from making a lot of noise in a meeting. Oh, how embarrassing.
LOL I wish it could be quiet then. I wonder if that is under Keysoft control,
or whether it is a Windows CE defect that can't be fixed. At least there will
be a use for the use of headphones being a software choice when 7 comes out
with the built in radio.

  Sarah,
One point of confusion here. How can the battery power discharge if the
adapteris plugged in?
(It would make sense to let it run down with no adapter and then plug it is
for calibration.)
