Hi Don,

When I've attempted to get a disk read, the information I receive is
inaccurate anyway. For example, when I attempted to acquire drive space, it
informed me that I had 5 GB of free space, not at all accurate. You are
right in that I've experienced a lock-up on occasion when trying to obtain
this information, and you are correct in stating that for this information,
the PC provides accurate information. Having said all of this, I love the
portability, and 80 GB of storage is terrific!
Best Regards,

Les

Hi Pam,

Actually, the listing of the hard disk contents depends on how many folders
there are on the drive. The next layer depends on how many files or
subfolders are in the folder you want to check out.

But, the speed of listing files doesn't seem too bad, only maybe a bit
longer than for folders on the flash disk.

The only problem you have is if you go into the file manager, and get into
the drive list and request disk information. For the Western Digital
anyway, this will either take several minutes or lock up the machine and
require a reset.

So, if you're wondering about free space or used space on the drive, you
should check it out on a pc which is quite easy to do.

I think Les Kriegler mentioned a problem with saving files in a specific
situation, but in most cases the western digital drive seem to work just
fine.

Don
