One thing you can use to assist you is to check the date and time modified for a particular file. This is done by pressing read with i while pointing to a particular file in the list. If you have a bunch of similarly named files, check each one's time stamp, and you will know which one you just modified a minute ago. Yes, it's still awkward and un-PC-like, but it may come in handy. And no, you're not alone in this, even we twenty-five-year-old spring chickens forget what the silly file name was from time to time. <Smile>

But don't let that blurr the fact that file management is still more awkward than it might be I am pleased to have been shown something I had not yet discovered. But I am still unable to get out of a file by the same path I got into it, and thereby be certain I am deleting that file. I still want the ability to actually open a file and massage it, then knowing I"m still on that file in the directory, deal with it immediately to either delete, save, move, or copy or do whatever else I might like to do to it. When I have to go back to the top menu and back down the line to the filename list, I run the risk of mis-remembering the filename specifics or hearing them wrong and deleting the wrong file because I cann't check as I delete. For all of you sharp young folks whose memories and minds still are working at top speed and accuracy, this sounds like a load of wah flippin' wah, but for those of us who are leaning towards the aging process with greater familiarity every day, believe me it is a reality. With luck you too will reach this point. One of the purposes of having the Voicenote is to assist my failing memory with things I once kept organized and at hand with total accuracy and recall without any devices. ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
