Hi Rhonda,

As others have said, they are pictures of text. Depending on the hymnal, they may also include pictures of the music.

Have you checked on the web for an electronic version of the hymnal?

Or, called the publisher to see if they could be talked into providing it in an electronic form, like word, or rich text?

Otherwise, they will need to do OCR on the files and then probably you or they will have a lot of error correction to do.

I hope you get it sorted out. I too use the Braille Note for hymns, but I have an inside connection for getting the bulletins with the lyrics sent to me as a word document that I can open in the PK. My wife is one of the Pastors at our Church.

How do I know they're text? It is my hymnal I use in church.
It's being scanned in, so that I can use it.

If you can't open them, how do you know they are text?
JPG files are, images. If someone has scanned them, perhaps they
haven't performed the necessary Optical Character Recognition
that would
extract the text.

Hi all:
Okay, Isaac: I asked about the dot jgp format, and you said it
was pictures. There are no pictures on these pages. It is text
that is being scanned in.
