Hello Karen,

I did receive your email. However I was out of town and on leave for most
of last week. I'll need to do some testing and chat with the Developers.
However, I can't give you an exact answer from a technical perspective at
this time as any comments from me on this issue would be pure speculation.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I would definitely understand a folder with that many files in it taking a
long time to open, and if the network card didn't make a difference, I
wouldn't have a question about it at all.

Also, if the Classic BrailleNote also took a long time to process the
opening of this folder, I wouldn't question it, but that's not really the
case. It's the network card that has me puzzled and why the MPower is so
much slower in processing this information without it.

Hi,

I suspect that the issue is not the size of the folder but more the number
of files therein; I have a couple of folders in excess of 200mb but with
only a handful of files in them and the file list opens within a few
seconds - albeit this is on a standard BN with 6.11 and ot an mPower.

With a large number of files (I think I remember one being 1000+), you are
asking the BN and operating system to do a lot of work in terms of
retrieving, collating and sorting those entries and, therefore, I'm not
surprised it takes a long time - although five minutes does seem a bit
excessive!

Sorry, don't have any thoughts on the network card aspect.

Richard Bartholomew
