Jim,

We're talking 7-20 MB here and we both have problems, perhaps for
different reasons.  I know some folk have found the back slot works much
better than the side one so I'll be checking out that possibility also.

I'd try the card from the back slot.  I have run into situations where
cards didn't work properly in the side slot but worked fine in the back 
slot.  Never have had to wait five minutes for a file list to come up.
