Karen, I sure am interested!
First, I have tried all ways to get into a folder containing 1,193 HTML files and concluded this is not possible. The total size of the folder containing these files is approx 7.6 MB. Now, I've never waited five minutes and always given up after about two! I'd be interested therefore if you have a folder of comparative size and consider it's worth my giving it a try with a longer time. (I just concluded it wasn't possible, with probable Windows/memory restrictions.) If this is too large, tell me how large a folder you have and I'll reproduce it and work with the network card both in and out of the back socket. -- Carol [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Karen McDonald Sent: Thursday, November 10, 2005 4:20 AM To: Braillenote List Subject: [Braillenote] STRANGE MPOWER QUIRKS If you don't have an MPower, feel free to delete this message, because you probably won't be interested, much less able to answer my queries. However, if you wish to read on, go ahead! I have written to Jonathan and Dean about this, but I haven't heard from Dean, and Jonathan doesn't really have an answer. I'm mostly looking for folks who just might have had this experience. I have a folder on my 256 meg compact flash card that has several hundred books on it. It's huge, believe me. When I go in to the folder and press the space bar to get to the list of files, it takes over five minutes to get to the list if my wireless network card is unplugged or if another compact card is plugged in to the back slot. I usually keep this particular card in the side slot. Now, here's what's strange. When I plug the network card in to the slot, it takes about half the time to get to the list of files in the folder. Thinking that perhaps this folder was corrupt, I tried erasing it after backing up all the files, and I was told that "this network request is not supported" or something akin to that. I reset the unit and was then able to erase the folder. I created the folder again, put all the files back and got the same results when going in to the folder as mentioned above. Now if you all aren't totally confused, what are your thoughts?
