I get the option to save the file to various places, which I can
choose; is that what you mean, Don? I'm using a new 'puter, which
an assistive technology specialist built for us. It has Trend Micro
security on it, which I know nothing about, but when I emailed the
guy tonight, he said there could be settings in one of the security
things that won't let me download an executable file, but he couldn't
guess what without doing some snooping. But I can't imagine that if
it's a security setting thing, Pam and I would be the only ones out
of all the downloaders who would have this problem. It's just really weird.

Hi Pam,
I also have a linksys router here and as I said much earlier, I
downloaded the patch just fine.
The file has a .bin extension. I just wonder if some other program
could have something to do with it such as associating itself with
that file type.
I did notice that I had a bit more difficulty downloading the file
than I used to and discovered that apparently avg which I use for
virus software seems to
have latched onto the .bin extension just recently apparently in one
of their updates.
Instead of getting the standard dialog box for download where you
can choose a download directory, the download starts immediately to
a temporary folder
instead, and to get it into my downloads directory I have to do a
"save as" once the download to the temp directory is complete.
But, the download speed itself seems okay. So, you might check your
listing of file types to see just what programs the .bin files is
associated with.
Do you get the standard download dialog where you can change the
file name and also the path to where it's being downloaded?
Not sure just where to tell you to look for the filetypes and their
associations as just don't do it enough to remember. Actually, I
try to avoid it. <smile>

Hi Don,
Thanks, just tried it but with the same results. Peggy and I both have
Linksys routers, so we're really wondering if that's the problem.
This is the first file type that I've ever had a problem downloading.
