Sarah:
What I mean is that a wireless network, the ones we are speaking of, are low
powered, & if there weren't walls & other impairments, it would only
transmit as far as a human could see, probably much less. Yes, this is
radio transmition though.

Bruce,
I'm curious about what you mean by "line of sight", when having to do with
wireless networks. All the WiFi networks I have seen act more like radio
transmissions, in other words, the signal can pass through walls and other
solid barriers. For instance, I can stand in front of my house and connect
to my wireless network.
Thanks,
Sarah

As wireless networks are generally what is known as Line Of Sight
connections, Solar Activity should have no bearing upon their operations.

Subject: [Braillenote] A Question for you Techies and Dean and Jonathon:
I have heard that at least the United States will be affected by solar
flares for a couple of days. How will these affect people using wireless?
How about active sink? That uses a frequency, too, doesn't it? People might
think their machines are not working when it might be about weather on the
sun. What does Humanware know about those frequencies and how they will be
affected? If you can help those people who like these wireless things, you
might post here. Just trying to help.
