Hi there. Yes, you will need a card reader in order to transfer files to and from the pc. THe cf card does go in the back slot, and there is no button to remove it. You may have to wiggle the card a bit as you take it out, one of my cards is quite a tiht fit. If you use the back slot for your network card, you can get an adapter that will allow you to insert cf cards in to the pc card slot on the side. I have one of these adapters, and they work great. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lisa Ehlers" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, June 24, 2005 2:03 PM Subject: [Braillenote] flash card questions looking to purchase one or more > Hello Everyone, > I am lokking to purchase one or two flash cards for my BN BT running KS 6.11. If so do the PCS have to run Windows XP or are flash cards compatible with Windows 98 or older? I ask because at work I don't think our computers are running Windows XP. The files I would be concerned with saving onto a flash card are for work. > > > 2. I would like to be able to maybe look into downloading MP3 files from the Internet to a flash card. From reading the manual I gather that the flash cards are put in the back slot of the BN. Is this correct? This concerns me since I insert my Etheernet card in the back slot of my BN. This would make downloading MP3's directly to the flash card impossible. Maybe those CF cards are the answer. > > 3. When I upgraded to KS 6.11 I had trouble removing the flsh card. It was in the back slot of the BN. It was easy to insert but almost impossible to remove. I don't see one of those resessed buttons for that slot like I do for the side slot. > 4. I've seen posts before about a flash card reader. Do I need to purchase that in order to put information from my flash cards onto a PC? > 5. When I back up my files onffo the flash card do they have to be saved in Microsoft Word or some other format other than Keyword braille files to be translated okay on the PC?
