Thanks so much, Sarah. I have a 5 gb microdrive which is all in one which, alas, can't be used on the pk but that will allow my old Braille Note to still have a good working life.

The only weird thing about the 6GB model is that it's a microdrive, meaning it's a tiny hard drive in Compact Flash clothing. (Smile) So, when saving a document for instance, it can take a while for the drive to finish doing what it has to do. Oh, and the BN doesn't read the available space exactly right, but if one is paying attention, one can calculate how much space is left. One good website to get these drives is:

www.compuplus.com

Mine also came with a PCMCIA adapter, so I can use it in my BN's side slot or a laptop.

One other thing, this is a type II card. The regular CF cards, the ones with no moving parts, are type I.

Well if I can get a 6 gb one I'll certainly get that.

Hi Mary Ellen,

This card should work fine. Both types I and II work in the BN family. I
got a Hitachi, (SP?), 6GB microdrive, a type two CF card, and it works
great! I'd go for the 4GB card if you want.

Subject: [Braillenote] question about compact flash cards and pk:

Hi folks!
I have just been running around the Memmorysuppliers' web site and came
across the following and before I make the stupid mistake of ordering, I
want to know if this will work with the Braille Note Family of products.
San Disk 4 Gb 4192 mb compact flash memmory card.
The part # is:
SDCFB-4096-A10
What caught my attention was that in the description it said it was a type
I. compact flash card and I was always under the impression that only
types
II worked in these machines.
Some enlightenment would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
