MP3 has a VBR scheme as well, there are actually two different ones with the new-ish 3.97 LAME encoder. ----- Original Message ----- From: "arthur Pirika" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hi, the lowest quality ogg is roughly 64 kbps, but ogg uses a form of vbr (variable bit rate), so the overall quality becomes better. To my ears, a 64 kbps ogg sounds similar to a 128 kbps mp3.

In regards to line in, would you need to set the recording level for the external mic to a low level? or is it best to use an atenuated cable.

thanks,
Arthur.

What is "the lowest quality" og? Becaseu the lowest quality MP3 at 44KHZ is
32 kbps, a far cry from 128. Anyway, to answer your questions the
braillenote does support stereo recording and I don't see why you couldn't
record using hte line in component.
----- Original Message -----
From: "arthur Pirika" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
To: <[email protected]>
Sent: Thursday, December 22, 2005 11:16 AM
Subject: [Braillenote] Recording on the Braille note.

>
>
>
>
> Hi there, a couple of questions and the reason why I'd like ot see ogg
> support on the bn.
>
> 1.
