You should be able to open a .doc file in WordPad and save it as .rtf. The BN should be able to handle RTF files created in this way. I don't think you need OB or K1000.

There are some versions of Microsoft Word that the BN can't read so when this happens, you need to change to .rtf and the BN should be able to read it. If your computer has a PCMCIA slot in it, get an adapter which will adapter from that to the compact flash cards. You can move files with ease without needing to worry about active sync. I move my files from PC to M-power through my network. If none of these are available, go active sync.
