That said, if you're going to rip to MP3, don't use WMP, use CDex. The MP3 codec that Windows uses for Media Player is intentionally bad to try and convince people to use WMA. But this is getting off topic. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark Vincent" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

when you put the cd in, windows media will ask if you wish to play, or rib the music. when you choose rib, you will then be able to decide if you want wma or mp3. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Bishop" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hi Wendy,

You can't copy an audio cd directly to the bn, you need to convert it to something like mp3 first.

I believe you can actually do this with Windows Media player, but haven't done it myself.

I use a free program called cdex and it does a fine job of pulling all or some tracks from a cd and putting it into mp3 format.

If you use google to search for cdex you'll see several sites where you can get it including download.com. If you do a google search, you get many many
results, but cdex in in the first couple you should see.

It really needs almost no special configuring and the help is easy to understand.
