Hi Sherry and list,
The wireless world of Email as well as other things is very exciting! You
can send and receive Email from anywhere in your house. You might be able
to do so from your back yard if you have a back yard. One is no longer
tied to cabling. I too would say that Email functions much better with the
6.1.1 upgrade and they say even better with the M-power.
Of course, one can surf the web in like manner without being tied to cables.
One other thing which is exciting to me is being able to send files from my
PC to the BN or the BN to the PC using the wireless network. No need for
disk drives or floppy disks. I'll still use the compact flash cards
though. I have a file which has a newsletter on it. I was able to copy
that file from my PC to the BN. The file was in the attachments folder of
my Email program. I was able to go to the PC attachments folder and copy
the newsletter file to a folder in my BN. I'm now editing this file so I
can emboss it properly into hard copy braille. Once I complete the editing
process, I'll attach the BN to my Juliet Embosser and emboss five braille
copies of the newsletter. Six one one is truly exciting but I'd try hard
to get the m Power. I'm hoping I can listen to audio of some sort in my
back yard. I'm looking forward to more memory to work with as well as a
faster processor.

Yes, this is a massive improvement in version 6.11. While Keymail certainly
does still have it's quirks, things in general happen much faster and
without as much fussing around. This is all, of course, in my own
experience.

Wow, you're able to have messages moved to trash that quickly? i don't have
6.11 yet, so I'm curious if this is an improvement over older versions of
key soft. Though I am very glad to be able to access email on the BN when I
travel, I do find it slow and tedious, especially because it takes so long
to delete messages, whether I do it one at a time or mark them and and move
them to trash all at once. I tend to get off my high traffic lists if
possible when I travel, because I just get so darn much mail, that it takes
forever to deal with it on the BN. But again, I am grateful to be able to
access email at all when I'm away from home!

I usually download at least two hundred messages per day, using my BN
running 6.11. I do occasionally save messages in folders I've created, but
usually I exit out of a message and mark it for further action. When I have
all my mail either sorted into folders or marked, I go to the action menu
and move them to the trash folder. This is because deleting them one at a
time will eventually cause Keymail to lock up for between ten and thirty
seconds before it lets me move to the next message. It only takes around
twenty or thirty seconds to move over 100 marked messages to the trash
folder.

How do you all manage your email on the BN? For, maybe I'm just lazy, but I
mostly just go through my messages one by one, and then either read them or
delete them right on the spot. And, should I be expecting any message that
I know I'm going to want to save, then I take the necessary steps to make
sure I receive that email on my computer.
I know the manual recommends making ones own folders for email; but, unless
I'm in the midst of replying to or composing a message, I usually don't keep
anything on my
PK all that long, mostly just time enough to read and delete.
Now, in handling my email this way on the PK, I'm getting to feel quite
comfortable with downloading say seventy or eighty messages at a time, or
maybe even up to a hundred and ten. But, doing much over that at one time
tends to make
the reading and deleting process start to get kind of sluggish, and thus
usually not worth the
risk of possibly
causing
my PK to have problems.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
