Yup. That's about what I had figured out, too.

Okay,
I played with it and hear is what I found. If you leave the layout set
to 0 in paragraphs, then you do have to put two lines between each
paragraph. However if you format your document before hand and change it to indent two spaces then you can just hit enter once and your okay. Set your display to show new lines as indent 1 or two cells. Set the display to automatic or layout and see if it helps. Make sure your reading mode
is paragraph.

Hi Sarai

Yes, that seems to be the only way to do it. But if I manually put in
the spaces, then they extend the blank space on the display and I don't like that as I only have the 18-cell. I'll try the layout indent first line to 2 and see if that makes it more readable for my liking. But as Steve rightly said, having to put two carriage returns in isn't the best

solution either as it puts blank lines in an embossed document. So, I
gather there are ways to do this, but I still think it needs a bit of
fixing from Humanware in the next release. Again, that paragraph
boundary of N for next line should be enough to tell it that a single
carriage return marks a paragraph. Just my thoughts on for me what is a

bit of a frustrating issue.

Hey Jean,
I haven't been keeping up with your problem so let me see if I'm
right.
You can move by paragraphs in other Braille documents, but can't in
ones
that your creating, right? If so, try this:
1. Translation set up options, put paragraph boundary to indented or
blank line. The second setting put interpret larger boundaries as
paragraphs, put no. Make sure your asky translation options also say
paragraph format.
2. Create a blank document. If you have the format settings as indent
first line of paragraph as 0 unchanged, you can change it to two, or
leave it alone, and hit enter, putting the two spaces manually as
required. Usually this is what I do unless it's a majorly formal
document I'm working on
I just tried it and I had success with changing the layout to indent
first line of paragraph to two.
Let me know if any of this works. Contact me off list for more help..

Hi Terri

Thanks for the idea, but it didn't fix my problem. I've even tried
setting the default file type to creat to a plain braille file, BRF,
with the same results. Within a braille document I create, I can only

move by paragraph if I use two returns between paragraphs or put in
two manual spaces. Ug, this shouldn't be that hard to solve.

Go to the forward translation list and look for "paragraph." Type
the
command for hard return then press the space bar twice.

Jean, I can tell you that if you use one carriage return and space
twice after that, you'll see a paragraph. I'm going to see if it
can

be set up as an option.
