I haven't had my mpower long enough to even KNOWE what you guys are talking
about! I'd like to test it but haven't gotten that far in the manual...
anyone with the patience to give me a basic, so I can test my machine before
30 days are up, soon?

Jonathan,

I too have this problem where my recordings sound like I'm talking through
wax paper, very distorted fuzzy sound. A list member sent hers in and had
a board replaced which fixed the problem and all recordings sound as they
should in the default settings. That list member sent me an attachment and
her machine sounds fine now. A friend of mine in this state has a similar
problem. I hope to send my unit in to have the record audio board fixed as
well. I can set the levels and have it sound reasonable but when I do a
reset, the default settings are back thus my recordings sound awful
again! I'd rather have it fixed so my recordings sound fine and I don't
need to worry about losing quality in my recordings once I do a reset. If
the level stayed the same no matter when I reset, I wouldn't worry about
the repair but they don't so feel my unit needs service.
