Hi Miranda, You don't need a floppy drive the BrailleNote has a flash card 
drive.  On each side.  On the back side it is a Compact Flash card and on the 
side it is a storage
card drive.  It is confusing I know.  To make it short you can save work on 
both of the drives What this means is that you can put the compact flash card 
in the storage card drive.  Meaning you can use both of the drives.  Write back.
