Matthew, I think you'll find that the mPower's way of dealing with batteries is very different. It's not only a different battery, there's a whole new process to be gone through.
Although you don't have the unit, there have been copious messages on this list regarding mPower battery issues. A nice bonus, though: the old AC adapter fits nicely in the new mPower, giving a handy spare charger.
