This is Joseph. Technical comparison between laptop and Pocket PC/Windows CE device: Most laptops today run standard Windows operating system, where as Pocket PC/Windows CE device like BN runs a slin down version of Windows, known as Windows CE. Laptop processors, for example, Intel Pentium 4, is similar to desktop counterpards, but it is designed for portability. But Windows CE devices have sompletely different processors, such as ARM, Intel XScale, etc. Hardware is also different. All laptops these days come with 2 or more USB host ports. By contrast, most Windows CE devices doesn't even have a single USB host port (the exception is mPower.). Today's scanners uses USB to interface with the host computer. That is the crucial reason why it is impossible to implement such a feature. I hope this information may help you. (last thing: Windows CE devices are designed as PC companion, not PC replacement.)
