To all of the List:
Sorry for writing the email about shrinking a BrailleNote. It
was just a question that carried too far, and I sincerely
apologize if I offended anyone. My point was not to say that the
existing BN's are bad; on the contrary, I love my MPower and
think it is the best device I have ever used, even preferable to
my PC with Jaws. I understand that people still use the built-in
modem, but cards are available for that just as they are for
wireless, and no one complains about there being no built-in
wireless. I was just taking out anything that is replaceable and
takes up a lot of room.
As far as one-handed operation, the standard one-handed mode is a
great idea and there is no reason why a smaller unit, whose keys
would be about 1/2 or 3/4 inches wide and spaced about 1/2
inches, or a bit less, apart, could not use it.
Again, I am sorry if I rubbed anyone the wrong way. As far as
"putting my money where my mouth is", I am looking online for
sites from which I can buy raw parts--processor, keys,
motherboard, USB/CF/SD readers for integration, WIFI/bluetooth
chips... Not much luck so far, but I'm trying.
Have a great day all,
Alex
