Stacey, You go to radio shack and tell them you wish to get the adaptor to recorde and play back through a telephone. You get a little box with a cable that plugs into the mic input on what you are going to recorde onto. Then the other plug is a female telephone jack and you plug your receiver / handset of your phone into that plug and then plug the cable with the male jack into the place you unplugged your handset from on the telephone. Then there is a little switch and you push it one way to recorde and the other way to play back your recording through the phone to someone on the other end of the line.
